Making Art That Matters
I’m So Tired: Motherhood, Work, and the Balance In Between
Saturday - 10:45 am
I like to think of myself as a wildflower. I crave the warmth of the sun against my face. I bloom best when I stop trying to force my own roots down and instead allow the wind to carry me where I was always intended to grow. I am drawn to those who see beauty in unexpected places, and I am always looking to scatter seeds of hope along my journey.
I like to keep things simple. My favorite thing is an honest conversation, the kind that will make you laugh and cry all at once. And i love to dance to a great song in the middle of my kitchen in footie jammies with my kids at the end of the day.
I have been photographing for ten years, and can only hope to still be creating honest work that enriches the human experience and pushing myself into uncomfortable places artistically as time goes on. I would love to still be teaching others and am excited to see how the creative imaginations of my children develop over these next few years into hopeful artistic collaborations as a family.
I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT
My personal and professional passions are all in one. I continually seek inspiration. I listen to podcasts, and love to explore new forms of creation (most recently, illustration), I am working on our first children's book and I keep my eyes open for signs of grace in our everyday to thread into my work and home; the pursuit of a life savored.
I CAN'T GO A DAY WITHOUT
The sound of my children's laughter, bacon and the great big red sunset out in our back pasture.
