Art has always been a part of my life. When I was little, I'd ask my mom to draw me "mer-dalmations" (think puppies with fish tails) multiple times a day so I could color them. My dad paints. My mom is a professional interior designer. Both my grandmothers were artists, and I even have a great grandmother who designed hats. I earned my BA in Visual Arts and my MA in Art Therapy Counseling. Then I married a filmmaker and we started filming weddings and family lifestyle videos together to earn some extra money.

The transition from videography to photography was a natural one for me. I photograph families primarily because I love the unpredictability, the imperfectness, the baby toes, unrestrained giggles, chubby toddler tummies, messy hair, and the kind of love between a mom and dad that comes only after time, sacrifice, and deep admiration. That's the story that I just can't ever get enough of.

I take a bubble bath almost every night. My husband also may have recently asked me if I thought the guys at our local 7-11 were judging us because of how often we get Dr. Pepper Slurpees.
