Personal Projects: Why They Matter and How to Get Started
Friday - 4:30 pm

BIOGRAPHY
When I was 14, there was a violinist I had a crush on in my orchestra class. One day we were talking after school and she told me she was taking a photo class and was bummed because she didn't have any friends in the class. I raced home and transferred into her period. Figuring out that I wanted to take pictures for a living took about a month. Oh, and it didn't work out with the girl.

I've been taking pictures now for 11 years, professionally for three years.

I'm passionate about telling interesting stories. My photography is an extension of curiosity, so anytime I get to photograph and meet new people I get pretty excited. I think the contribution I most want to make is to show people a nuanced version of the world.

WHEN I'M NOT WORKING
I want to be on the soccer pitch or traveling.
